Have your say on rising fuel costs!

High diesel and gas prices are just one of the many farm inputs cutting into the profitability of Canadian agri-businesses.  CFIB’s farm members are also experiencing other market pressures including record high fertilizer prices, high feed costs, as well as high Canadian currency issues.

Take Action Now! Tell your governments, “Rising Fuel Costs are Harming my Business: Don’t Make the Problem Worse!”

Join other CFIB members and urge the government to:

• End the 1.5 cent per litre additional Federal fuel excise tax originally introduced as a deficit reduction measure;
• End the tax-on-tax anomaly (GST/HST/QST) that inflates prices and government revenue by eliminating sales tax on existing fuel taxes;
• Undertake a review of all forms of fuel taxes—including diesel fuel—in light of the current price environment; and,
• Place a moratorium on any discussions or implementation of additional fuel or carbon taxes. Such talk is extremely insensitive to businesses already struggling with rising fuel costs.
