Your feedback told a big story:
  • The regulatory burden of CFIA has increased in the last three years.
  • On average, an agri-business commits 29 days per year and spends $19,000 per year to comply with CFIA regulations.
  • Only 1 in 5 agri-businesses believe the CFIA provides good overall service. There is room for improvement!
CFIB takes action:
  • CFIB presented its CFIA Report Card to the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food in Ottawa.
  • CFIB discussed agri-business members' key concerns with senior CFIA officials in Ottawa.
  • CFIA agreed to work closely with CFIB to recommend ways to ease the regulatory burden on agri-businesses.
